Palm Springs Airport Gets New Interim Leader as Director Heads to Sacramento

Palm Springs City Manager Scott Stiles named Victoria Carpenter as Interim Executive Director of Palm Springs International Airport (PSP) on Tuesday, following the announcement that current director Harry Barrett is leaving next month to take a new role as Assistant Director at the Sacramento County Department of Airports.

Carpenter, who has served as PSP's Assistant Airport Director for the past year, will step into the interim role starting Friday, May 22. The city directed staff to begin a nationwide search for a permanent executive director in the near future.

Before moving into the assistant director role, Carpenter spent four years as Airport Administration Manager, where she oversaw the airport's five-year Capital Improvement Program and negotiated a five-year Airline Use and Lease Agreement with every signatory carrier. Before joining PSP, she spent three years as a Right of Way Specialist for the Coachella Valley Water District.
