Desert Hot Springs seeks community input on future development projects
The City of Desert Hot Springs is inviting residents to help shape the future of development in their neighborhoods.
City officials are exploring the creation of a tax increment financing district, a funding tool that could help pay for improvements like new streets, sidewalks, and utilities—without raising taxes or adding new ones.
Leaders say the goal is to invest in infrastructure while giving the community a direct voice in deciding which projects move forward.
To gather feedback, the city is hosting a free virtual community workshop on Monday, May 4 at 6 p.m.
Residents who attend will have the opportunity to learn more about the proposal and help prioritize potential projects across the city.
Spanish interpretation will be available to ensure broader community participation.
City officials are encouraging residents to take part, saying public input will play a key role in shaping how the district is developed and what improvements are made.
Those interested in attending can sign up through the city’s website.
