Fido Friday: Meet Fudge

It's Fido Friday, and this week, community contributor Jen Agnew introduces us to Fudge, a dog currently available at the Coachella Valley Animal Campus in Thousand Palms.

FIDO is a community-started program that lets locals take a shelter dog out for the day. It gets dogs out of the kennel environment, helps them decompress, and puts them in front of potential adopters, while giving volunteers a furry companion for the afternoon.

If you're interested in adopting Fudge, contact the Coachella Valley Animal Campus and reference ID number A-1902394.

If you'd like to become a FIDO walker and take a dog out for the day, you can reach organizer Pam Solek at pam.solek@gmail.com or find her on the Nextdoor app.

And if you're thinking about adding a pet to your family, this weekend is the time to do it. The county's Barkchella celebration runs through Sunday, April 19, offering free adoptions at all county shelters. Every adoption includes spay or neuter services, vaccinations, a microchip, and an engraved ID tag. Head to the Coachella Valley Animal Campus in Thousand Palms, or any Riverside County shelter, to find your match.
