An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up on Tuesday, April 21, 2026!

As a trough of low pressure moves through the Southwest, on-shore winds will ramp-up this afternoon into very early Wednesday morning. A Wind Advisory has been posted for the West end of the Coachella Valley into the San Gorgonio Pass along with the High Desert and area mountains.

This disturbance will trigger a few light, widely scattered showers late this evening over the Inland Empire to the Coast. It will also drop temps -- but only slightly -- from the upper-80s today to the middle-80s tomorrow.

The next system is expected to appear over the West Coast this weekend bringing with it gusty West winds and cooler temperatures in the 70s. Any precipitation will be very light and widely scattered and remain West of the Valley.
