Motorcyclist Identified in Fatal Early-Morning Crash in Thermal

A motorcyclist killed in a collision with a vehicle in Thermal early Tuesday morning has been identified as 29-year-old Salvador Torres Garcia.

The fatal crash occurred shortly after 6 a.m. at the intersection of 59th Avenue and Pierce Street, near Highway 86, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Investigators say Garcia was riding a motorcycle along Pierce Street when it collided with a sedan traveling south through the intersection. The impact left Garcia with fatal injuries, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the sedan was not injured in the crash.

Authorities have not yet released additional details about the circumstances leading up to the collision. The incident remains under investigation.
