Motorcyclist Killed in Crash in Thermal

A motorcyclist was killed in a crash early this morning in Thermal.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the collision was reported around 6 a.m. at the intersection of 59th Avenue and Pierce Street, near Highway 86.

Investigators say the motorcycle was traveling along Pierce Street when it collided with a Subaru sedan heading south through the intersection.

The motorcyclist, identified only as a man, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the sedan was not injured.

Authorities say the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
