Rancho Mirage Celebrates Earth Day 2026 with Tree Giveaways and Family Activities
RANCHO MIRAGE — The City of Rancho Mirage is celebrating Earth Day today with a full slate of environmental activities and family-friendly events at the Rancho Mirage Library and Observatory. The festivities began Wednesday morning with a ceremonial tree planting on the library grounds to honor the international holiday.
From 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., the celebration moves indoors for a variety of interactive experiences. Residents and visitors can participate in eco-friendly games, attend a live animal presentation, and take part in a hands-on workshop to learn how to make their own laundry soap.
For those looking to bring a piece of Earth Day home, the library is also hosting a free tree giveaway. The trees are available to the public on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.
The day of conservation and education will wrap up at 4:00 p.m. with a community screening of "The Lorax." All ages are welcome to attend the screening and the various workshops throughout the day as part of the city's commitment to environmental awareness.
