An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up on Thursday, April 23, 2026!

Today the Coachella Valley will be under a mix of Sun and clouds with breezy winds and close-to-normal high temperatures in the upper-80s/lower-90s.

As a low pressure center approaches the West Coast, winds will begin to ramp-up. You can expect gusty on-shore afternoon/evening winds on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Of those three days, the strongest winds will occur during the PM hours on Saturday. A Wind Advisory for areas in Southern California is likely.

Any rain associated with this system will be light, widely scattered and fall over the San Gorgonio Pass, Inland Empire, area mountains to the Coast. The Coachella Valley will not pick-up any measurable rain.

Another event associated with this wave will be temperatures. Coachella Valley high temps will slip from around 90° on Friday to the upper-70s both afternoons this weekend.
