Pet of the Week: Meet Batman!

This week's Pet of the Week is Batman, an adorable 10-week-old black kitten with bright green eyes and a fluffy tail, brought to us by Valerie Kattz of Animal Samaritans. Found wandering the streets of Coachella as a tiny stray, Batman has since been checked out, cared for, and is now ready to find his forever home.

True to his name, Batman is calm, confident, and completely camera ready, purring away from the moment he arrived on set. He is a people cat through and through, the kind of kitten who wants to be by your side constantly, curling up on the couch and following you from room to room. Not skittish in the slightest, this little guy is as social and sweet as they come.

If you are thinking about adopting Batman, or one of many other kittens in need of a home, Animal Samaritans has the perfect opportunity for you. The organization is bringing back its popular CATurday Breakfast and Bingo on Saturday, April 25, inside the Sky Ballroom at Kimpton Rowan Palm Springs. Doors open at 8:30 a.m., with the event running from 9 to 11 a.m.

Tickets are $40 and include a full breakfast, complimentary mimosas, and a BINGO card for each game. Bingo will be hosted by the fabulous Sister Burna, with prizes including a staycation at the Rowan, Palm Springs Aerial Tramway tickets, cookies from Crush Crush Cookies, and a pet communication session with animal communicator Francis W. Greenspan. Adoptable kittens, including Batman, will be on site and ready to meet their new families.

It is kitten season, and shelters across the valley are overwhelmed, so if you have been thinking about adding a furry friend to your home, now is the time. When you adopt, you are not only saving one life, you are making space for another animal in need.

All proceeds benefit Animal Samaritans' Feline Fund, which supports the care of local cats and kittens. The organization has served the Coachella Valley since 1978.
