Purity Laws, Picnic Baskets, and a Dragon to Slay: It's a Holiday-Packed Thursday!
First up, raise a glass, because today is German Beer Day. The holiday marks the anniversary of the Reinheitsgebot, Germany's legendary Beer Purity Law, which was signed into existence on this very date all the way back in 1516. Five centuries of brewing standards is definitely worth toasting. Whether you reach for a classic or discover something new on the shelf, today is the perfect excuse to go German.
Next on the calendar is Slay a Dragon Day, which sounds far more dramatic than your Thursday morning commute. The day honors the legend of St. George, who reportedly rescued both a town and a princess by taking down a fearsome dragon way back in the 3rd century. Heroism has never had a better holiday.
And rounding out the trio is National Picnic Day, a celebration tailor-made for the Coachella Valley's gorgeous spring weather. Grab a blanket, load up a basket, and find yourself a perfect patch of grass, because dining al fresco is the move today.
Speaking of picnics, the word "picnic" is front and center in today's pop quiz, and Jerry has two questions that will put your pop culture knowledge to the test. Think you know your classic music and vintage cartoons? Prove it!
