An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up on Friday, April 24, 2026!

Winds will be an issue into the weekend.

The Coachella Valley will see building clouds later today with gusty late-afternoon and evening West winds.

As a disturbance moves through the Southwest this weekend, on-shore winds will become strong and gusty during the second-half of Saturday into Sunday. A Wind Advisory has been posted for this weekend which includes the San Gorgonio Pass into the West end of the Coachella Valley. During this period, you can expect elevated dust and dirt to lower our air quality.

Any precipitation with this system will be light and widely scattered and will all fall West of the Coachella Valley between Saturday afternoon into early-Sunday morning.

Valley high temperatures will slip from around 90° on Friday to the middle-to-upper 70s on Sunday.

The next chance of rain for the Southwest will occur on Thursday of next week. Stay tuned!
