Housing Affordability Improves Slightly in Coachella Valley, Challenges Remain
Housing affordability in the Coachella Valley is showing slight improvement but experts say challenges remain.
A new report from the California Association of Realtors finds that about 28% of households in Riverside County can afford a median-priced home.
That figure is higher than the statewide average, suggesting the region remains more attainable than many coastal markets, even as home prices stay elevated.
However, the report also highlights ongoing disparities. Fewer Black and Hispanic households are able to afford homes compared to other groups, pointing to continued gaps in access to homeownership.
Experts say while there are signs of progress, affordability remains a major hurdle for many families trying to enter the housing market.
