Meet Perla: A Sweet Girl Who's Been Waiting Since November
It's Fido Friday, and this week community contributor Jen Agnew introduces us to Perla, a two-year-old German Shepherd who some viewers may recognize from Pet of the Week last Thursday. Perla has been at the Coachella Valley Animal Campus since November, and she's still looking for a home.
Perla’s a little shy at first, but gentle and loving once she warms up. And the moment she stepped outside the kennel, a different dog emerged entirely.
"These dogs are so different once they are out of their kennel," Jen said. "More relaxed, more themselves, just happy to be with someone. Something so small like a walk or a car ride can completely change their chances of getting adopted. That's exactly what what FIDO is all about."
FIDO is a community-started program that lets locals take a shelter dog out for the day, for however long they'd like. It helps dogs decompress, show their true personalities, and get seen by potential adopters.
If you're interested in adopting Perla, contact the Coachella Valley Animal Campus and reference ID number A-1886293.
