An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up on Saturday, April 25, 2026!
As a disturbance moves through the Southwest this weekend, there will be rain, cooler temps, wind and poor air quality.
This low pressure center will trigger strong, gusty on-shore winds from Saturday afternoon into Sunday. A Wind Advisory has been posted over a large area of Southern California for both days.
And -- because of elevated windblown dust and poor air quality -- an Air Quality Alert has also been issued for the Coachella Valley area through Sunday.
Any rain with this system will fall this weekend from the San Gorgonio Pass, area mountain and Inland Empire to the Coast. A few light sprinkles are possible on the very West end of the Valley between Saturday night and Sunday morning.
This frontal boundary will also provide cooler-than-normal high temperatures. Valley midday highs will be in the upper-70s/lower-80s on Saturday, middle-to-upper 70s for Sunday, followed by lower-80s on Monday.
Clouds will be at their thickest this morning and afternoon while thinning-out a bit on Saturday night. You'll see a mix of Sun and clouds on Sunday, followed by lots of sunshine come Monday.
