At Least 10 Structures Damaged After Tornado-Warned Storm Hits Miami County

“At least 10 structures” sustained damage during tornado-warned storms in Miami County on Sunday night, according to the Sheriff's Office.

Miami County Undersheriff Matt Kelly reported that the damage was concentrated in the northwest part of the county along 247th Street.

At least seven utility poles were downed along the roadway, creating access challenges for residents and emergency crews.

One family reported that their barn collapsed and was blown away, while Evergy workers checked homes for damage and worked to restore power.

Residents described sudden and intense conditions, with some watching the storm until debris began flying sideways across their properties.

No injuries were reported in the aftermath of the storm, despite the significant property damage.

Heavy rainfall also caused flash flooding, briefly turning Main Street into what business owners described as a river.
