In Theaters: You, Me & Tuscany
Looking for a romantic getaway without the airfare? Manny suggests heading to the cinema for You, Me & Tuscany. This film follows Anna (Halle Bailey), who finds herself squatting in an empty Italian villa only to be mistaken for the owner’s fiancée by his charming family.
Manny describes it as a comforting, "paint-by-numbers" rom-com that feels like a throwback to the 2000s. While he admits the story—a mix of While You Were Sleeping and Tuscan "food porn"—doesn't reinvent the wheel, the "combustible chemistry" between Halle Bailey and Regé-Jean Page makes it a winner. Manny gave it three out of four "soak up the sun kisses" for its sheer escapism and beautiful scenery.
Pick of the Week: Hamlet
Stealing the spotlight this week is the gritty new adaptation of Hamlet. This isn't your standard period piece; this reimagining sets Shakespeare's classic tragedy in the elite South Asian community of modern-day London.
Manny raved about Riz Ahmed in the title role, calling his performance intense and deeply introspective. Describing the film as dark, visually stunning, and filled with tension, Manny crowned it his Pick of the Week, awarding it three and a half out of four "to be or not to be kisses".
