Riverside County Sheriff’s Office Urges Drivers to Watch for Motorcycles

The Riverside County Sheriff's Office is urging drivers across the region to stay alert and “look twice for motorcycles” as warmer weather brings more riders onto local roads.

Officials say increased motorcycle traffic during spring and summer months raises the risk of collisions, making awareness and safe driving practices especially important.

Drivers are reminded to always check mirrors and blind spots before changing lanes and to give motorcycles plenty of space on the road. Deputies emphasize that even a moment of inattention can lead to serious crashes.

Motorcyclists are also being urged to take safety precautions, including wearing a Department of Transportation-approved helmet, riding defensively, and ensuring headlights remain on at all times to increase visibility.

Law enforcement officials say the goal is to reduce preventable crashes and save lives by encouraging both drivers and riders to share the road responsibly.
