Salton City Murder Case Advances as Suspect Makes Fourth Court Appearance
A murder case involving the death of 17-year-old Tania Tovar is moving forward as the accused suspect made his fourth court appearance this morning in an Imperial County criminal courthouse.
Abraham Feinblum, 51, of Salton City, is charged with murder and firearm enhancements. He has pleaded not guilty. Prosecutors say the case stems from the disappearance of Tovar, who was reported missing last summer and later confirmed dead after remains and bullet fragments were discovered near Salton City in December.
During a previous court appearance, Feinblum’s defense attorney raised concerns about forensic evidence, pointing to alleged discrepancies between two reports regarding the estimated time of death. The defense also noted that additional human remains were not recovered at the defendant’s property.
Tovar, who was from Hemet, was just 17 years old at the time of her disappearance.
The preliminary hearing is expected to continue this week, with multiple witnesses scheduled to testify as prosecutors work to move the case forward.
