Outdoor Burning Suspended in Riverside County Amid Rising Fire Risk
With high winds and rising temperatures increasing fire danger, CAL FIRE is suspending all outdoor residential burning permits across Riverside County effective May 1.
Fire officials say the move is a critical step to help prevent wildfires and protect both lives and natural habitats during peak fire season.
In addition to the burn ban, CAL FIRE has also closed six hazardous hiking trails throughout the county, including one south of Banning and north of San Jacinto.
Officials warn that additional closures could be implemented depending on weather conditions in the coming weeks.
Residents are urged to remain cautious, follow fire safety guidelines, and stay informed as conditions continue to evolve heading into the hotter months.
