Coachella Valley Teen Tennis Phenom Sets Sights on Global Greatness After Major Tournament Win

A young tennis prodigy homegrown right here in the Coachella Valley, after capturing a major win at one of the toughest amateur tournaments in California has his mission to keep winning and become the best in the world.

It’s all business during the grueling four-hour training sessions for 16-year-old phenom Chance Rozpedski. A local talent, he’s already nationally ranked among the top junior players in the country. His journey began early—holding a racket before he could even walk—and years later, that early start is paying off.

From precise footwork to perfecting his grip, every detail matters. That discipline recently helped him secure a victory at the prestigious Ojai tournament, one of the oldest and most competitive amateur events in the United States.

But for Rozpedski, the physical game is only half the battle.

“The toughest part is mental,” he says. “Playing multiple matches in one day and still competing at a high level without losing focus.”

Guiding him every step of the way is his coach and father, himself a former high-level tennis player who competed at the collegiate level. Now running a training program in the Coachella Valley, he works with dozens of young athletes while helping shape his son’s promising future.

He says the Ojai win was especially rewarding—not just because of the title, but because of the level of competition. Win or lose, the focus remains the same: growth, discipline, and staying on the right path.

That path could soon lead to Division I college tennis—and beyond.

For Rozpedski, the ultimate goal is clear: turn pro, compete on the ATP Tour, and one day win a Grand Slam title.

After wrapping up a training session this morning, he was already on the move—headed to his next competition, continuing the relentless pursuit of greatness.
