An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up on Friday, May 1, 2026!

You can expect hot temperatures today with cooler weather and stronger winds early next week.

As an upper-level ridge of high pressure nudges its way into the Southwest, the Coachella Valley will experience above-normal high temps around 100° today followed by upper-90s on Saturday. And with dew points in the 30s both afternoons, your evaporative coolers should function just fine.

As a trough of low pressure moves through the Southland early next week, on-shore winds will be at their strongest during the late-afternoon and evening hours on Sunday and Monday.

This disturbance will also play a role in dropping our midday temperatures into the upper-70s for both Monday and Tuesday. Enjoy these below-normal numbers as we'll move back into the upper-90s late-next week.
