Desert Hot Springs Man Arrested After Alleged Generator Theft

A Desert Hot Springs man is behind bars this morning after police say he stole a commercial diesel generator worth more than $20,000.

According to the Desert Hot Springs Police Department, 45-year-old William Otis Moore Jr. was taken into custody Friday in Palm Springs without incident.

Investigators say officers recovered the stolen generator during a search. They also found four stolen vehicles, tools, a commercial air conditioning unit, a firearm, ammunition, and narcotics.

Moore was booked into the Benoit Detention Center in Indio.

Authorities say bail information has not yet been released.
