Leadership Coachella Valley Supports ABC Recovery Center Expansion

We’re learning more about this year’s class project from Leadership Coachella Valley.

The local leadership group is raising money to help furnish new facilities at the ABC Recovery Center in Indio, an effort community leaders say will strengthen the entire Coachella Valley.

The recovery center has been helping people overcome addiction for decades.

One of those people is Bianca, who says she learned she was pregnant with her daughter Riley on her very first day of treatment. She says the center became an important part of both of their lives.

Now the organization is expanding. Leaders say the project will add 44,000 square feet of new facilities designed to serve more people in recovery. The next step is furnishing the space, with an estimated need of about $1.8 million.

Members of this year’s Leadership Coachella Valley class say supporting the project was a natural fit because of the center’s longstanding impact on the recovery community.

Local leaders say the expansion will allow the center to reach more people and create lasting benefits across the region.

For people battling addiction, Bianca says walking through the doors of the ABC Recovery Center can be the first step toward rebuilding a life.
