Star Wars in Motion: George Lucas Unveils First Cinema Exhibit for Billion-Dollar LA Museum Opening this September
HOLLYWOOD, CA — It was a massive "May the Fourth" for fans of the galaxy far, far away as the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art officially teased its first cinema-focused exhibition. Titled "Star Wars in Motion," the exhibit will serve as a centerpiece for the museum’s grand opening in Los Angeles later this year.
The billion-dollar institution, founded by George Lucas and Mellody Hobson, is scheduled to open its doors on September 22, 2026, in Exposition Park.
The "Star Wars in Motion" Debut
While the museum will house over 30 inaugural exhibits, "Star Wars in Motion" is arguably the most anticipated. This specific installation will focus on the artistic and technical evolution of the franchise’s iconic vehicles and vessels.
Featured Artifacts: Original concept art from Ralph McQuarrie, physical models of starships, and detailed blueprints from the Lucasfilm archives.
Scope: The exhibition spans design highlights from both the original trilogy and the prequels, exploring how the concept of "propulsive motion" shaped the visual storytelling of the saga.
Cannes 2026: The Jury is Set
Across the Atlantic, the 79th Cannes Film Festival has finalized the panel that will decide the winner of the prestigious Palme d’Or. This year's jury, presided over by South Korean director Park Chan-wook, features a heavy-hitting lineup of American and international talent:
Demi Moore: Coming off a career-best run in 2024’s The Substance.
Chloé Zhao: The Academy Award-winning director of Nomadland.
Stellan Skarsgård: The veteran actor recently seen in the Dune franchise and Andor.
Ruth Negga: The Oscar-nominated star of Loving.
The festival is set to run from May 12 to May 23 on the French Riviera.
Final Mission for "The Night Agent"
Netflix has officially confirmed that the high-stakes journey of FBI agent Peter Sutherland is coming to an end. "The Night Agent," one of the streamer’s most-watched original series, will conclude with its upcoming fourth season.
Series creator Shawn Ryan stated that the decision allows the team to deliver a "definitive conclusion" to the sprawling conspiracy. Production for the final season is currently underway in Los Angeles, with a release date expected in early 2027. "We are hard at work to complete our story and to make our final season one our fans will never forget," Ryan said.
