Tragedy in Koreatown: 2 Dead, 3 Injured in Shooting at Carrollton Shopping Plaza; Suspect in Custody

CARROLLTON, TX — A Tuesday morning business meeting erupted into violence in the heart of Carrollton’s Koreatown, leaving two people dead and three others hospitalized. Police have since taken a 69-year-old suspect into custody following a brief foot pursuit.
The shooting occurred just before 10:00 a.m. at the K Towne Plaza, located in the 4000 block of Highway 121. According to Carrollton Police Chief Roberto Arredondo, the incident was targeted and not a random act of violence.
The Incident and Emergency Response
Officers from multiple agencies, including the Carrollton Police Department and the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), arrived to find a chaotic scene at the shopping center. First responders located five victims:
Two fatalities: Both individuals were pronounced dead at the scene.
Three injured: The victims were transported to local hospitals. As of Tuesday afternoon, their conditions remain unknown.
The identities of the victims have not been released pending notification of next of kin.
The Suspect and Arrest
Following the shooting, undercover officers tracked a vehicle linked to the suspect, identified as Seung Han Ho. When officers attempted to make contact in the area of 2625 Old Denton Road, Han Ho reportedly fled on foot.
After a short pursuit, Han Ho was arrested without further incident. While he is currently in custody, police have not yet specified the exact charges he will face as the investigation continues.
A Targeted Act
During a Tuesday afternoon news conference, Chief Arredondo emphasized that the community is not at further risk, noting that the shooting appeared to stem from a specific business dispute. "This was not a random act," Arredondo stated, though he did not elaborate on the nature of the meeting or the relationship between the suspect and the victims.
Investigators remain on-site at K Towne Plaza, interviewing witnesses and reviewing surveillance footage from the busy shopping district.
