Woman Dies After Hit-and-Run Crash in Indio

A woman injured in a hit-and-run crash in Indio has died, according to the Indio Police Department.

Officers responded just after 10:30 p.m. Monday to Golf Center Parkway north of Avenue 45, where the victim was found unresponsive in the roadway. She was transported to a local hospital, where she later died from her injuries.

Investigators say the driver involved fled the scene before officers arrived and remains outstanding. Authorities have not released a description of the suspect vehicle.

The case remains under investigation, and police are urging anyone with information to come forward.
