Crepes, No Diets, and Beverages Galore: Happy Hump Day from Your Hashtag Holiday Guru!
Wednesday just got a whole lot more delicious. First up, it's National Crepe Suzette Day, honoring the classic French dessert featuring a rich sauce of caramelized sugar, butter, orange juice and zest, all finished with a dramatic flambé. Elegant, indulgent, and honestly pretty hard to say no to.
But here's the real kicker: it's also International No Diet Day. That's right, the calorie counting can take a backseat today. Consider it a well-deserved breather from the numbers game, and if crepes happen to be on the menu, well, the calendar basically told you so.
And rounding out the trio, today is National Beverage Day. Whether your go-to is water, coffee, wine, beer, an energy drink, or a cold can of pop, today is your excuse to raise a glass and drink up.
Put Your Beverage Knowledge to the Test!
In the spirit of National Beverage Day, Jerry cooked up two trivia questions for this morning's Pop Quiz segment, and they are trickier than you might think. How much do you really know about two iconic American drinks?
1) Dr Pepper has been quenching thirsts for well over a century, but did you know its bottles once featured the numbers 10, 2, and 4 printed around the logo? What did those three numbers represent?
A) The date Dr Pepper was introduced to the public, October 2nd, 1904
B) The recipe ratio of soda to syrup to carbonation
C) The recommended times of day to drink Dr Pepper
2) The name V8 is a nod to both engine-style energy and the eight vegetable ingredients packed into every can. Tomatoes, beets, celery, carrots, lettuce, parsley, and watercress are seven of them. What is the eighth veggie hiding in that classic blend?
A) Kale
B) Spinach
C) Squash
