Palm Valley School Community Launches Fundraising Website Amid Reports of Financial Uncertainty

A fundraising effort is now underway to help Palm Valley School in Rancho Mirage avoid closure, with a dedicated website launched by members of the school's community asking for public donations.
The push comes after reports this week that the school is weighing Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection, with enrollment sitting around 150 students, well below expectations. School officials declined to comment on the earlier reports of financial troubles.
Founded in 1952 in Rancho Mirage, Palm Valley School serves students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
The site describes the effort as organized by PVS community members who are "determined to ensure it continues to provide the best education possible for many years to come."
The site has a goal of fundraising $1.5 million, and notes that pledges are expected to be converted to donations once a fundraising goal is met.
We reached out to Palm Valley School officials about the launch of the new fundraising website and are currently waiting for a response.
