Desert Regional Medical Center Honors Nurses During Nurses Week Kickoff

Desert Regional Medical Center began Nurses Week with a special celebration honoring nurses for their dedication and compassionate care.

Three nurses were recognized with DAISY Awards, a nationwide program that celebrates nurses who go above and beyond in caring for patients.

This year’s recipients were Carol Levinson, Alison Cocan, and Danya Martin.

In addition to the awards, four scholarships were presented to nurses to help further their education in heart care.

Nurses Week continues through May 12, which marks the birthday of Florence Nightingale, whose work helped shape modern nursing around the world.
