Google Rebrands Fitbit App as Google Health With AI Features
Google is making a bigger push into digital health by rebranding its Fitbit app as Google Health beginning May 19.
The update puts Google’s Gemini artificial intelligence technology front and center through a new health coach feature.
The app will be able to track fitness data and answer health-related questions through a chatbot designed to give users more personalized guidance.
Right now, Google trails Apple and Samsung in the wearable technology market.
But Google says the new platform can also read health data from devices such as Apple Watch and Oura Ring, giving users access to its tools without needing to switch hardware.
