Local Businesses Score Big During Firebirds Playoff Run

Playoff hockey is creating more than excitement for fans at Acrisure Arena — it’s also providing a boost for local businesses operating inside the venue.

As the Coachella Valley Firebirds continue their postseason run, vendors say the crowds attending games are helping introduce their products to thousands of potential new customers.

One of those businesses is Painted Dough, a local donut company that has become a popular stop for fans during Firebirds games. Owner Gil says the partnership with the arena has helped expand the company’s visibility throughout the community.

According to the business, many customers discover the brand for the first time while attending games, creating opportunities to grow beyond pop-up events and local markets.

Painted Dough also announced plans to open its first permanent storefront in downtown Indio near the corner of Oasis Street and Miles Avenue.

Arena representatives and business owners say featuring local vendors inside Acrisure Arena is important because it gives small businesses a platform to reach residents and visitors who may not otherwise encounter them.

With another high-stakes playoff matchup underway, fans are expected to pack the arena once again — supporting both the hometown hockey team and the local businesses serving them.
