La Quinta Hosts Guided CV Link Discovery Session and E-Bike Event This Saturday

The City of La Quinta is inviting the community to step, pedal, or roll onto the CV Link this Saturday, May 9, 2026, for a special "Guided Discovery Session." The event, which kicks off at 8:00 a.m., aims to familiarize residents with the newest segments of the valley’s multi-modal transportation corridor and highlight the safety benefits of the 40-mile path.
Participants are asked to meet at the CV Link promontory located at the intersection of Jefferson Street and Vista Grande.
Experience the Future of Valley Travel
Led by La Quinta city officials and staff, the session is designed as an interactive tour of the local segment. Attendees will learn firsthand how the CV Link works—separating pedestrians, bicyclists, and low-speed electric vehicles (LSVs) like golf carts from traditional vehicular traffic to improve overall road safety.
Beyond recreation, city leaders will discuss how the pathway is shaping the future of La Quinta by enhancing connectivity to schools and businesses, promoting healthier lifestyles, and driving local economic growth.
Free Rentals and Refreshments
To help everyone get moving, the city is providing several perks for those who arrive early:
Free E-Bike Rentals: Available on a first-come, first-served basis for those who want to test out an electric assist on the path.
Hydration & Snacks: Water and light snacks will be provided to keep participants fueled for the outdoor activity.
What to Bring
While e-bike rentals are available, the community is highly encouraged to bring their own equipment. The path is open to:
Bicycles and e-bikes
Pedestrians and runners
Golf carts (Low-Speed Electric Vehicles)
Attendees are reminded to dress accordingly for the morning weather—which is expected to be warm—and to wear appropriate footwear and sun protection. Whether you are a regular commuter or a weekend warrior, the city hopes this session will help more residents feel confident utilizing this state-of-the-art community asset.
