Four Moderate SoCal Earthquakes Occurred Saturday Afternoon, May 9, 2026!

The USGS recorded a mini-Earthquake swarm this afternoon just South of the Salton Sea, 1-mile WSW of Brawley (60-miles SE of Indio) in Central Imperial County.

• 4:14p: 3.49 Magnitude Quake (8.6-miles deep)

• 4:49p: 3.52 Quake (9.1-miles)

• 5:34p: 3.44 Quake (9.6-miles)

• 5:36p: 3.05 Quake (7.4-miles)

The coordinates for the 3.52 shaker are 32.974/-115.556 while the other three were in the same general area.

In total today, in that same area -- as of this posting -- there have been 30 1s, seven 2s, and four 3s.
