Gas Prices Continue to Climb Across Riverside County
Gas prices in Riverside County have risen to $6.085 per gallon for regular unleaded as of this morning, up six cents from last week and more than 20 cents higher than just a month ago.
The jump is part of a broader national surge. The national average for regular gas now sits at $4.55 per gallon, according to the Lundberg Survey, up 41 cents over the past two weeks alone. That's $1.53 more than prices were before the start of the Iran war on February 28, and $1.33 more than this time last year.
Riverside County is feeling that pressure more sharply than most. At $6.085, local prices far exceed the national average, and the gap appears to be widening.
The Lundberg Survey points to wholesale gas prices rising even faster than what drivers see at the pump, squeezing station owners and independent distributors and ultimately pushing retail prices higher. Low fuel stocks, refinery curtailments, and climbing seasonal demand are compounding the problem.
Here's where Riverside County prices stand today:
Today: $6.085
Yesterday: $6.082
