Desert Hot Springs Police Arrest Two Boys in Gang-Related Weapons Operation
Two boys are behind bars this morning, after Desert Hot Springs Police and Riverside County Sheriff’s deputies searched two homes they say were tied to a string of violent gang-related crimes.
According to the Desert Hot Springs Police Department, the operation was carried out around 7 a.m., supported by the Coachella Valley Gang Task Force, the Post-release Accountability Compliance Team, and a Riverside County Sheriff's helicopter. Detectives recovered two firearms, ammunition, and stolen property across both unspecified locations. The two juveniles were booked into Riverside County Juvenile Hall on numerous charges, though those charges were not listed.
Police were clear that the operation had no connection to federal ICE activity that has been occurring in the Desert Hot Springs area, a distinction the department made directly in its announcement.
