Eisenhower Health Unveils Community Quilt to Celebrate Unity and Inclusion
Eisenhower Health is celebrating its staff, volunteers, and patients through a unique community art project known as the Everyone Belongs quilt. The initiative, part of the hospital’s broader Everyone Belongs program, is designed to ensure that everyone who enters the facility feels a deep sense of connection and value.
Stitch by stitch, employees at Eisenhower Health have been weaving messages of support and unity into the fabric of the quilt. The project is part of a quarterly event series dedicated to acknowledging the diverse contributions of the hospital community. Cynthia Jovino, the Director of Advanced Practice at Eisenhower Health, explained that the goal is to create a tangible representation of the safe space the hospital strives to provide for both its workforce and the public.
According to Jovino, the quilt exemplifies how individuals across the entire healthcare system contribute to one another. The project specifically highlights the importance of teamwork and cultural connections in strengthening patient care. Jovino expressed pride in how the campus came together to intimately share their feelings about working within the Coachella Valley community.
The completed quilt is now on display in the hospital’s main lobby. It serves as a visual reminder of the hospital's commitment to inclusion as the region’s only nonprofit hospital. For patients and visitors, the artwork is intended to offer a warm welcome, reinforcing the message that every individual has a place at Eisenhower Health.
