Manny the Movie Guy Breaks Down This Weekend’s Biggest Releases

It’s shaping up to be a busy weekend at the box office with several major releases hitting theaters, and Manny the Movie Guy is breaking down the biggest films to watch.

First up is In the Gray, the latest action thriller from director Guy Ritchie. The film stars Jake Gyllenhaal, Henry Cavill, Eiza González, and Rosamund Pike as elite operatives attempting to recover a billion-dollar fortune from a dangerous tyrant. Manny praised the film’s action, humor, and chemistry among the cast, giving it three out of four “neither good nor evil kisses.”

Next is the supernatural horror film Obsession starring Michael Johnston and Indy Navarrette. The story follows a hopeless romantic whose wish for love turns terrifyingly dangerous. Manny called the film smart, disturbing, and one of the best horror movies of the year so far, also awarding it three out of four kisses.

Rounding out the reviews is The Wizard of the Kremlin, a political drama starring Paul Dano and Jude Law. The film explores the rise of Russian President Vladimir Putin through the eyes of a political strategist helping shape his public image. Manny described the slow-burn thriller as ambitious, timely, and thought-provoking.
