An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up on Saturday, May 16, 2026!

Because of a trough of low pressure and a tight pressure gradient, on-shore winds will remain strong through the weekend. You can expect poor air quality due to elevated dust and dirt.

A Wind Advisory has been posted through Sunday evening for a large area of Southern California. See images for details.

As this disturbance exits the area, winds will become more Northerly and be at their strongest Monday morning. This wind shift will also drop dew points and relative humidity.

Today, those Coachella Valley high temperatures will be running close-to-normal in the middle-90s. This will be followed by peak temps in the lower-90s on Sunday and Monday.

A string of midday numbers around 100° will begin on Wednesday.
