Jurors Continue Deliberations in 2018 Indio Drive-By Shooting Trial

Jurors continued deliberations Monday in the trial of a Thousand Palms parolee accused of shooting a teenage girl in the head during a 2018 drive-by attack in Indio.

Thirty-year-old Vicente Manuel Reyes is charged with two counts of attempted murder, along with firearm and great bodily injury enhancements tied to the shooting.

Prosecutors allege Reyes opened fire on a vehicle near John Nobles Avenue and Monroe Street in 2018, striking a 14-year-old girl in the head and jaw. The teenager survived the shooting.

Closing arguments wrapped up last Wednesday at the Larson Justice Center, after which jurors began deliberations.

The panel returned Thursday, took Friday off, and resumed discussions Monday as they continue reviewing testimony and evidence presented during the trial.
