Long Beach Man Suspected of Murder After Fatal Rancho Mirage Hit-and-Run

A Long Beach man is behind bars this morning, on allegations of murder in connection with a deadly hit-and-run crash in Rancho Mirage.

Investigators with the Riverside County Sheriff's Department say 23-year-old Tyler Conant crashed into another vehicle Saturday morning at Dinah Shore Drive and George Montgomery Way, killing 57-year-old Teresa Bowlin of Cathedral City, before driving away from the scene. Deputies located Conant a short time later and took him into custody.

Authorities say Conant was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash. He is now facing murder and felony hit-and-run allegations and is being held at the John Benoit Detention Center in Indio.

Anyone with information is asked to call Deputy Bret Meservey at 760-836-1600 or Riverside County Sheriff's Dispatch at 760-836-3215.
