College of the Desert Names Dr. Raymond “Chip” West III Vice President of Administrative Services

College of the Desert has officially appointed Raymond “Chip” West III as the school’s Vice President of Administrative Services.

West had been serving in the role on an interim basis since February 2025.

College officials say that during his interim leadership, West focused on improving campus operations, strengthening public safety efforts, and helping modernize the district’s budget process.

In his permanent role, West will oversee the college’s financial operations as well as major bond-funded construction projects across the district.

School leaders say the appointment comes as the college continues working on long-term campus improvements and operational planning throughout the Coachella Valley.
