Happy National Plant Something Day! Can You Ace the Holiday Pop Quiz?
Tuesday, May 19th is packed with reasons to celebrate. It's National Devil's Food Cake Day, a nod to the rich, moist, chocolatey counterpart to the light and airy angel food cake, which gets its own day on October 10th. Today, though, we're celebrating the darker side of dessert.
It's also National May Ray Day, a simple reminder to step outside and soak up some spring sunshine. With a beautiful day in the forecast for the Coachella Valley, there's no excuse not to get out there.
And the big one: National Plant Something Day. Whether it's flowers, vegetables, or a tree, today is all about getting outside, digging up the dirt, and watching something grow.
That "plant" theme carried right into weatherman Jerry Steffen's Hashtag Holiday Calendar Pop Quiz, where viewers were put to the test with two plant-themed questions. Think you know the answers? Watch the video to find out if you're right!
1: Robert Plant is regarded by many as one of the greatest singers in rock and roll history. During the late 1960s to early 1980s, alongside Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones and John Bonham, Plant was the voice of which English rock band?
A) Deep Purple
B) Led Zeppelin
C) The Who
2: In the 1986 horror comedy musical film Little Shop of Horrors, nerdy florist Seymour Krelborn owns a bloodthirsty plant that grows rapidly and becomes more carnivorous. What did Seymour name his man-eating plant?
A) Audrey
B) Barbara
C) Carol
