Palm Springs Residents Get a Say in the Future of Local Bus Service

Palm Springs residents have a chance Tuesday morning to help shape how public transit works in the Coachella Valley, as SunLine Transit Agency and Blue Zones Project Palm Springs co-host a community town hall at the James O. Jessie Desert Highland Unity Center.

The two-hour event, running from 9 to 11 a.m., centers on SunLine's "Rides Reimagined" initiative, a proposed redesign of the region's bus network aimed at making it easier for residents to reach healthy food, medical care, and other community resources. Attendees are invited to give direct feedback on the designs SunLine has already drafted.

The event also marks the public launch of a new tobacco cessation campaign that will run throughout SunLine's transit system, promoting healthier lifestyles across the region.

For those who can’t attend in person, a virtual option is  available through Zoom. The town hall also features travel training opportunities, a light breakfast, and prizes and giveaways.
