Thousand Palms Man Convicted in 2018 Indio Drive-By Shooting

A Thousand Palms parolee has been convicted in connection with a 2018 drive-by shooting that left a teenage girl critically injured in Indio.

Thirty-year-old Vicente Manuel Reyes was found guilty of two counts of attempted murder, along with firearm and great bodily injury enhancements.

Prosecutors said Reyes shot into a vehicle near downtown Indio during the 2018 incident, striking a teenage girl in the head. The victim survived the attack.

Reyes remains in custody at the Benoit Detention Center without bail.

A sentencing date has not yet been set.
