Traffic Delays Expected in Cathedral City as Safety Upgrades Begin at Busy Intersection

Drivers traveling through Cathedral City should plan for delays this week as construction work continues at the intersection of 30th Avenue and Avenida La Paz.

City officials say crews are installing a series of pedestrian safety upgrades designed to improve visibility and help protect people crossing the roadway.

The improvements include flashing HAWK crosswalk beacons, brighter LED lighting, high-visibility crosswalk markings, and updated warning signs.

Construction will take place on weekdays from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., with lane closures expected throughout the project. Officials have not yet announced an estimated completion date.

Motorists are encouraged to slow down, watch for construction crews, and allow extra travel time while work is underway.
