Test Your Holiday Knowledge with Jerry Steffen's Hashtag Holiday Calendar and Pop Quiz
Wednesday, May 20, 2026, is a busy one on the holiday calendar, and weatherman Jerry Steffen is back with the Hashtag Holiday Calendar and Pop Quiz, brought to you by One Coachella Valley, to walk us through what makes today worth celebrating.
First up, it is Eliza Doolittle Day. Theater lovers and Broadway fans will recognize this one right away, as the date comes straight from the lyrics of a beloved musical number. The day honors George Bernard Shaw's classic story Pygmalion, better known in its famous stage and film adaptation, My Fair Lady.
It is also World Bee Day, a United Nations observance recognizing the critical role bees play in our ecosystem. If you have ever rescued a struggling bee from a pool, today is your holiday.
And rounding out the calendar, May 20th is Josephine Baker Day. Baker was an American and French dancer, singer and actress whose tireless civil rights activism, including her refusal to perform for segregated audiences, led the NAACP to declare this day in her honor.
That last name, Baker, is all the inspiration Jerry needs to bring you two trivia questions this week. Think you know your classic rock saxophone solos and your Office characters? Here is your chance to find out.
