Palm Springs Life Honors Three Coachella Valley Trailblazers at Annual Women Who Lead Luncheon

RANCHO MIRAGE, Calif. — Some of the Coachella Valley's most influential and visionary professionals gathered Thursday afternoon at the Ritz-Carlton Rancho Mirage for Palm Springs Life's annual Women Who Lead Celebration. The premier event is designed to honor prominent desert leaders who are making a lasting impact across the region through professional excellence, innovation, and dedicated community service.

This year's roster of distinguished honorees highlighted trailblazers spanning corporate leadership, healthcare education, and childhood philanthropy. The individual accolades recognized Julie Bloom, the Chief Operating Officer of The Sunrise Company, for her commitment to regional business development and economic growth; Cindy Burreson, the Chief Executive Officer of the Children's Discovery Museum of the Desert, for her advocacy in youth development and creative learning; and Rising Star recipient Priscilla Zamarron, the clinical simulation manager at Eisenhower Health, for her pioneering work in high-fidelity medical education.

The dynamic luncheon also featured a highly anticipated keynote address from former U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer. Now a Coachella Valley resident, Boxer reflected on her decades-long political journey and structural activism, while reminding attendees of the long, evolutionary road still ahead for women in public life. Boxer noted that when she was a young girl, professional opportunities in business, the nonprofit sector, and politics were profoundly scarce. While she expressed immense pride in celebrating the individual triumphs of the day's three honorees, she strongly emphasized that the broader societal struggle for true professional equity remains far from finished.

For many in attendance, the gathering extended far beyond individual recognition and networking. Multiple participants expressed that the true heart of the event centers on inspiring and guiding the next generation of leadership. Attendees noted that modeling professional success serves as an essential example for young children, teaching them that parents can achieve great success outside the home while building thriving, supportive households.

The sentiment was warmly echoed by Zamarron, who urged future professionals and aspiring valley entrepreneurs to confidently move forward in the direction of their passions, advising them to stay passionate about what they love because it will ultimately guide them to where they truly belong. Organizers concluded the luncheon by emphasizing that celebrating these local leaders helps shape a stronger, more collaborative future for the entire Coachella Valley.
