City of Palm Springs Hosts 4th Annual 'Dip Into Summer' Free Family Pool Party Saturday
The City of Palm Springs Department of Parks and Recreation is inviting local families to kick off the summer season with sunshine, free activities, and plenty of splash-filled fun at the fourth annual "Dip Into Summer" event. Scheduled for Saturday, May 23, 2026, the completely free community celebration will take place at Sunrise Park and the adjacent Palm Springs Swim Center, located at 401 South Pavilion Way. Organized to provide a safe, engaging environment for children and residents over the warm holiday weekend, the gathering promises a full day of entertainment under the desert sun.
The festivities will officially begin at 11:00 AM on the Sunrise Park grounds with an hour of interactive park activities. Children of all ages and their families can participate in organized park games and enjoy live music tailored to younger audiences. Following the park activities, the celebration shifts location at noon as the official pool party takes over the Palm Springs Swim Center. Running until 6:00 PM, the six-hour aquatic event will offer cool waters, summer music, and open access to the facility's swimming areas, making it a perfect destination for families looking to relax and unwind together.
As residents gear up for the busy holiday weekend activities, law enforcement officials are also reminding motorists to exercise extreme caution on regional roadways. The California Highway Patrol is hitting the roads with its traditional Memorial Day Maximum Enforcement Period starting Friday evening and continuing through Monday night. Officers will be out in full force across the Coachella Valley to monitor traffic speeds, enforce seatbelt compliance, and look for impaired drivers, ensuring that families traveling to and from local holiday events arrive at their destinations safely.
