Meet Lilac: She's Spent Almost Half Her Life Waiting
It's Fido Friday, and this week, community contributor Jen Agnew introduces us to Lilac, a one-year-old who has been at the Coachella Valley Animal Campus since December. At just a year old, she's spent nearly half her life behind shelter walls.
Lilac is a little nervous at first, but once she settles in, her personality comes through. On her outing with Jen, she was gentle, sweet, great on leash, wonderful in the car, and easy with other dogs. "Sometimes these babies just need time away from the shelter for their true personality to shine," Jen said. "Fido gives them hope, and we couldn't do it without this amazing community coming together for these sweet souls."
That's exactly what the program is built for: giving dogs like Lilac the chance to be seen as themselves, outside a kennel, and without the stress that comes with it.
If you're interested in adopting Lilac, contact the Coachella Valley Animal Campus and reference ID number A-1892221.
