An NBC Palm Springs Weather Heads-Up on Sunday, May 24, 2026!

The Coachella Valley will see lots of sunshine this afternoon with breezy winds, a touch of humidity, and highs in the middle-90s.

Next, an upper-level low will break free of the jet stream and move down the West Coast to spin over the Southwest for three days. The biggest concern will be strong, gusty on-shore winds on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. For the Valley, these winds will be at their strongest during the afternoon and evening hours all three days.

With strengthening winds, you can expect elevated dust and dirt along with low air quality.

This disturbance will also play a role in reducing Valley midday highs from the middle-90s today and Monday, to around 90° on Tuesday, to the lower-80s by Wednesday.
